UpCoast Summer Trips

UpCoast Summer Trips are a blend of exploration by mothership boat cruising and sea kayaking. Daily expeditions to estuaries and small archipelagos of rugged islands beyond Broughton Island are the focus of each trip. Each one of the four destinations are unique. Unique is silence, solitude and scenery.

Knight Inlet and Kingcome Inlet are jewels of a coastline that profiles breath taking wilderness scenery and solitude. Bond Sound is a quiet waterway that offer a place to view the harmony of nature. And Seymour Inlet support a maze of inland waterways that offer there own fasination.

Each of our destinations supports an estuary of a glacially feed river that brings its nutrients to mix with the waters from the sea. It is here where want to spend the majority of time on our estuary explorations. Each trip gives us six days to engage our inner interests in this natural environment. An enviroment with few bugs, sponing salmon and visitations from all gods creatures that coordinates its preparation for another winter.

In the background of each of these trips you will find ruins and signs of a past coastal culture which has endured 12,000 years of survival. What now awaits us is a lush uncut, unsettled landscape cohabitated by bear, eagle and wolf. Our trips use a variety of crafts to access the wildlife and it's habitats at a distance. This quiet approach has allows us to

investigate the sensitive biodiversity of each of the destination we visit.  A list of our trip is described below this introduction.
